Beat the Boss Hot Wing Competition

It has been hard to ignore the fires down south, the smoke cloud that covered Brisbane a few months ago and the devastation felt by many as bush fires ripped through parts of our country. So, to help, the team at Walker Hill decided to raise some much-needed funds to help with the fire devastation through our Beat the Boss Hot Wing Competition.

There were fifteen competitors plus Walker Hill’s managing director, Nick Hill, competing for bragging rights and the satisfaction of eating some seriously hot wings over three rounds… and all for a good cause. With mouth heat tamers of bread and milk and extra wings available for purchase, the competition heated up and resulted in a tie breaker.  This led to a stand-off round where an additional five wings each were eaten by the final two competitors. A big congratulations to Matthew Ashton from the FreshMethod team for being our overall winner, and a big thank you to Newstead Brewing Co Milton, Walker Hill and all of our competitors, supporters and donators for helping to make the event a success.

All proceeds raised from this event were donated to the NSW bush fire appeal in an aim to do our part to make it count for those effected.
